IHow Magic Really Works
(How the Magician uses the 4 elements in spiritual awakening and manifestation)
The Magician card is a deep Tarot card on so many levels. It’s a picture of a man dressed in what appears to be a ritualistic robe handling spiritual business. Above his head sits the infinity symbol, right at the crown chakra. This speaks of the infinite potential of the mind, the field of pure potentiality.
In one hand he is holding the wand in the air, as if he is prepared to initiate a magical intention. His other is directed toward the ground with his index finger pointed downward. These two hands juxtaposed in different directions are recognition of his balance between the spiritual and physical realms.
The Magician is a 1 card, which is very divine number. It speaks to new beginnings, unity, divine oneness, or Source energy (God, Allah, Rah, Matrix, All). It can also be attributed to single minded focus. It is said that the Magician card is a card of suprise, good or bad.
On the table in front of him sits a cup, a pentacle and a sword. Along with the wand, all four of these suits are tied to one of the 4 elements. The sword equals air, the pentacle equals Earth, the cup equals water, and again the wand equals fire.
