Don’t Be Gullible
(Learn how the 7 of cups can protect you from gullibility)
The 7 of cups is a very interesting card. 7’s in the Tarot stand for mystery and preparation. These cards are there to help you prepare your mind for decisions you’ll make.
The cup cards are summer cards and uphold the water element. Water represents emotions, intuition and anything created from those feelings.
The traditional Tarot card shows a person staring out at 7 cups, all filled with something completely different. He is faced with many choices and needs to be responsible with the one he picks.
But he also has to remember that “everything that glitters isn’t gold”. The card itself means that it’s important not to get caught up in wishful thinking and fallacies based on fantasy.
It’s corresponding card in the Guide to the Fairy Ring is of the Will O’ the Wisp. He is a water fairy that lives in swampy marsh areas. His body is alluring and transparent, meaning if you are paying attention, you’ll be able to see right through him.
He holds a lantern with a so called “light” that attracts people to it, according to Welsh mythology. Because he is so enchanting, those prone to gullibility and fantasy are likely to being kidnapped by him and pulled under water (negative emotions).
