How the Trickster Befuddled the Hater
(Today’s Tarot Reading Story: The Trickster, The Banshee, the Chariot Card, and The Totality Card)
“Well if you wanna know what I think?” said the voice in the office across the hall. “I don’t think Mya has what it takes.”
Mya was frozen. She had shown up to work an hour earlier than usual that Monday morning to organize her emails. She wasn’t expecting to hear Carmen, her team lead in the creative department of Percel Enterprises, to be speaking against her. Mya trusted Carmen, respected her even. Now she just felt sick to her stomach.
The work Mya had done all weekend to revitalize the department, made her so proud on her drive in. She had big ideas for efficiency and ways to inspire productivity in the department and wanted to present it to Thad, her boss that morning at the weekly conference meeting. But after hearing Carmen’s disparaging remarks, she was cringing with insecurity.

At 9 am, Carmen knocked on Mya’s open door with her typical bright smile to greet her as she does everyone in the department.
“Good morning Mya. How are we doing this beautiful Monday?”
Mya, completely irritated with the fakery, mustered a smile and responded, “I’m well. Thank you.”
