I Remember You
(A love poem)
I’ve seen your shadow on my wall
And your eyes in my mirror
I’ve seen your face in my heart
And your peace in my dreams
I’ve smelled your cologne in the air
And deja vu enraptured me
I’ve felt your touch in my smile
And your fingers on my scalp
I’ve heard your music on my mind
And it intrigued me to hear such chords
I’ve tasted your flavor on my palate
As the honey that flows from tall trees
I’ve learned your name from rhyme of mine
And seen it written in many languages
I’ve trusted your promises as gold
And you’ve never betrayed me yet
I’ve laid by you under the moonlight
And awakened with you before the sun
I remember you from my childhood
And we played in pure innocence
I’ve rocked you in my arms
And your tears rolled salting my arms
I’ve kissed your lips softly like whispers
And await your return as love before
