My Love Affair with the Tarot
(An unveiling of my relationship and history with the Tarot cards)
When I first started reading Tarot cards nearly a decade ago, I was just looking to learn a new spiritual skill. I’ve always had a thing for sitting on the floor with great music or a tv show going, while shuffling cards, playing solitaire and making up my own card games. I don’t know. It was just kind of relaxing and calming to my mind.
I picked up a black and red deck from Half Priced Books and was so excited to go home and play around. There was this white, folded up piece of paper inside the box with these rectangles with numbers and questions on them called “spreads”.
I shuffled the cards and thought about something that was ailing my mind, which at that time was me mourning over my Paw Paw that had recently passed away. That reading cleared up some sadness for his loss and guilt for not living up to what I thought were his expectations. That reading even helped me to make sense of his beautiful personality a little more, too.
After that first profound reading, I automatically felt connected to the cards. I had this innate understanding and developed a passion for learning much more. So I started doing some readings for family and friends. And similarly, the results were spot on.
