Pouring Your Pain into Something of Value

Grief, heartache, resentment, regret, humiliation, anger, depression, emptiness; these are all feelings that we have all suffered through. No one is immune to the hurts of life and we don’t always know how to fix them.
Some of these low points are harder and take much longer to work through than others. Plus, we all have different personalities, too. We all don’t have the same level of resilience or the same inner tools to heal hurts.
One thing about our pain is that if it’s extremely traumatic, we often lose belief that we can get over the hump. It feels like we’ve lost everything, like the sky is falling in on us, crushing our hearts, stifling our breath.
But, we have to remember that all is not lost. It might feel like the end of any semblance of a resolution. It’s just not true. There is something left of our mess that over time becomes a bigger blessing than we could have ever imagined.
The first hand experience of pain becomes not only an agent for humility, but also the very bridge for another person to cross. As we pour the blood from our wounds into something valuable, we heal and help at the same time.
