Setting a New Standard for Yourself

So here’s a brief recap of what happened before I drop the self love jewels. Last week marked a monumental moment in Hip Hop history.
New York showed up in mass to witness the infamous Verzuz battle between legendary groups The Lox and Dipset.
I admit I’ve always been the oddball. Though I grew up in Houston, Texas, home of Rap-A-Lot Records and the Screwed Up Click, I have always been partial to New York Hip Hop. It was always my vibe and the producers, emcees and lyrical flow just spoke more to my soul.
Well, it ended up being a no-brainer. The Lox blew Dipset out of the water. It wasn’t for any lack of hits or skill by Dipset. But The Lox were prepared, on every level, for war… and it showed.
The next day, Fat Joe (who I call Hip Hop’s favorite Uncle) gave a thorough, first hand witness synopsis of the battle on his podcast called “The Culture”.
And he made a very insightful observation about Jadakiss, a member of The Lox, who has been loosely crowned “The King of New York” since last week.
