The Ugly Truth About Inner Growth
(Today’s Tarot Reading: The Mystic, Boabham Sith, Do Not Judge, and the 8 of Wands)
There comes a time in our lives where we want more out of life. But wanting more out of life eludes to an expectation of more out of ourselves. I know that was the case for me.
In my twenties, I decided I wanted to be better, stronger and more emotionally mature. I wanted to have a kind of cool in good times and bad that kept me internally stable, no matter what.
But with that wish, a lot had to be worked out in me; and because I wanted a lot out of myself that wasn’t necessarily what I was exhibiting at the time, that work was pretty rough. It was like the divine was saying to me, “Okay, you asked for it”; and boooooy did I get it.
The Mystic card is that part of us that craves the power of the divine. It’s the part of that asks for the spiritual mysteries to come alive within and around us. We want to develop spiritual prowess and the ability to respond to things better than we do.
But these powers come from experience, the kind of experiences that go deep. It’s a depth that awakens the divine inside of us, the soulfulness that can only be stirred by pain.
